Free online resources to help teachers learn about teaching online
Since 2015, eCampusOntario has worked with Ontario’s colleges and universities to promote excellence in online teaching and learning. During the recent pivot to large-scale remote teaching, this work has proved essential.
At the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown, eCampusOntario and its community prepared a collection of resources to support teaching and learning remotely. Supporting Remote Teaching and Learning during COVID-19 includes guidance for pivoting to remote delivery, finding digital tools, modifying final assessments and more.
We know that teachers everywhere are working hard to pivot to virtual learning, including across the K-12 system. We invite all teachers and educators to explore resources designed to help you navigate this new normal.
These resources are freely available.
We also offer the free and timely Ontario Extend program, a professional development resource for all educators. These open-source modules are available in English and French, and will help educators build their digital teaching skills. More than 900 educators have already taken part in the program.
Each completed module results in a digital micro-credential that can be shared on educators’ resumes or social media profiles. The modules have recently undergone an update to ensure principles of equity, diversity and inclusion are integrated throughout the learning process.
eCampusOntario is here to support all educators as they navigate the shift to virtual learning.
