eCampusOntario CEO brainstorms with Northern Ontario colleges and universities
Building partnerships with colleges and universities in Ontario’s Northern communities has been a focus for eCampusOntario since its inception. Since 2015, the organization has supported institutions in the province’s North to build in-demand skills for local learners, increase access to post-secondary education through partnerships and online learning, and drive positive change in their communities.
This month, eCampusOntario CEO, David Porter, travels North to visit with a number of colleges and universities over a three-day period.
During his time with representatives at these institutions, he hopes to identify areas of need and opportunities for collaboration.
“One of the things we need to do is be proactive,” says David. “Access to many of the meetings and opportunities we have is an issue for many Northern institutions, and understanding their needs is something we need to do. We’re trying to gauge if there is assistance we can provide with training, support or technology-enabled infrastructure that might help them collaborate.”
