eCampusOntario Announces Appointment of Lynn Wells to Board Leadership 

Toronto, July 16, 2025 

eCampusOntario proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Lynn Wells to its Board of Directors. Dedicated to advancing digital and online learning, she joins Chairs Rebecca Jamieson and Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan as part of its tripartite Board leadership team. 

“Lynn Wells’ appointment marks an exciting new chapter for eCampusOntario,” said Rebecca Jamieson, who also serves as President and CEO of Six Nations Polytechnic. “Her vision and commitment to excellence in education align perfectly with our goal to promote innovative education for Ontarians. We are confident that Lynn’s leadership will strengthen our impact on technology-enabled learning across the province.” 

Dr. Wells currently serves as President and Vice-Chancellor of Laurentian University and has an over 20-year leadership tenure in Canadian postsecondary education.  Including positions at Brock University, University of Regina, First Nations University of Canada (FNUniv), and MacEwan University. In addition to her invaluable experience with reconciliation initiatives and digital learning, Dr. Wells has been a staunch advocate for integrating technology into traditional learning environments, helping to bridge the gap between in-person and digital education. Her efforts have contributed to the creation of more accessible and inclusive educational platforms, benefiting a broad spectrum of students.  

Ann Marie Vaughan added, “Lynn’s support for digital learning initiatives makes her an essential addition to our team. Her passion for fostering innovation will propel eCampusOntario to new milestones in online education. Not only does she bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise, but her ability to inspire and lead will be instrumental in driving our mission forward.” Vaughan also serves as President and CEO of Humber Polytechnic. 

Dr. Wells expressed her enthusiasm for the role: “I am honored to become one of the eCampusOntario Chairs. This organization has been transforming education through technology and innovation. I look forward to exploring new opportunities to continue this work and further enhance online learning for students. I am interested in expanding our reach and increasing the impact of our programs to ensure that every student has the opportunity to benefit from high-quality digital education.”
