This year, eCampusOntario has worked hard to improve our services to better support the Franco-Ontarian community with digital teaching and learning resources and opportunities. In the context of this work, eCampusOntario recently launched the first franco-ontarian community of practice in order to encourage interinstitutional collaboration, to support professional development and to improve accessibility for our francophone and bilingual educators.
Our Franco-Ontarian colleagues have far fewer resources in French and very limited access to professional development opportunities compared to their Anglophone colleagues. To address this issue, we are organizing a one-day in-person and virtual conference for our Franco-Ontarian community to ensure that these educators have the same opportunities to share, collaborate and network!
In February, our conference Citoyenneté 3.0: L’aventure technopédagogique en milieu franco-ontarien will explore our ever-evolving digital reality at the postsecondary level through discussing important aspects such as digital citizenship, emergent technologies, and open education.

Engaging discussions on currents affairs
We find ourselves in uncharted territory as advances such as generative artificial intelligence (AI) become increasingly prevalent in our society. As educators, we face ever-evolving questions and challenges about what these emerging technologies mean for higher education in a minority context. Our speakers will discuss a wide range of topics, including the emergence of chatbot 3.0 in the classroom, generative AI and other emerging technologies for cultivating student engagement, as well as the role of open educational resources (OER) for inclusive pedagogy. We assure you that this is a can’t miss event.
Registration will open in December
Join us as we bring the Franco-Ontarian sector together to collaborate and develop the future of digital teaching and learning.
