In March 2020, as schools in Ontario prepared for a rapid pivot to online caused by the COVID 19 Pandemic, eCampusOntario members expressed concerns about adapting to deliver traditionally in-person proctored exams in a remote environment. eCampusOntario and the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities worked together to provide the province’s 45 public colleges and universities with limited-time access to Proctortrack by Verificient, an online solution that enables academic continuity with the transition to emergency remote exam delivery. eCampusOntario encourages the full evaluation of all options for delivering remote assessment. Proctortrack is available on an as-needed basis for circumstances where schools feel that they will be unable to successfully deliver a final assessment for a course without replicating the proctored environment (for example, for exams with external accreditation).
