Position Summary
The Lead, Partnerships will provide strategic outreach and engagement toward developing beneficial partnerships for Digital Campus Canada, that leverage all relevant programs, services, and platforms to realize the benefits of strategic partnerships within the postsecondary education sector.
The Lead, Partnerships will work with a key team of advisors and a diverse set of post-secondary stakeholders to initiate, establish, develop and manage sustainable partnerships and act as first point of contact and public champion for key service areas. The Lead, Partnerships will bring an experienced level of understanding of the post-secondary environment and has demonstrated experience within the sector and in the digital learning and innovation environment more broadly to drive the creation and expansion of our partnership ecosystem.
The Lead, Partnerships will have the experience and maturity to execute on determined priorities based on established organizational and program goals, while working collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment to have organization-wide impact. The role engages with external partners, contractors, and vendors with a high level of autonomy.
Accountabilities, Duties and Responsibilities
- Partnership Strategy, Growth and Development
- With the Manager’s oversight, develop and sustain strategic service outreach and engagement strategies and initiatives, working to meaningfully support stakeholders from across Canada in all service delivery activity.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, including members of the Research and Foresight team to ensure that strategies and initiatives are outcomes-focused and evaluated for risk and continuous improvement purposes.
- With the Manager’s oversight, support the development of business plans and funding applications as relevant to platform, program, and service development.
- Conduct detailed data analysis to inform decision making in new partnerships and funding opportunities.
- Scout and present new partnership proposals.
- Engage in work cross-functionally and develop and maintain standards for participating in common projects across the organization, with shared goals and responsibilities.
- Use agile project management and leadership principles to plan, implement and track partnership engagements in a client relationship management tool like Salesforce.
- Conduct partnership evaluations and scope and execute pathways for continuous improvement.
- Identify and document quality assurance needs.
- Under managerial direction, support business modeling, financial forecasting, pricing for value generation and cost recovery business activities.
- Partnership Oversight
- Engage, network and foster relationships with key sector members including with faculty, staff academic leaders and learners.
- Build and improve relationships with key external stakeholder groups and associations; analyzing their needs and expectations; and supporting the planning and implementing of various tasks to engage with them.
- Oversee project timelines, objectives and key results, and reporting ensuring that government targets are met or exceeded as assigned.
- Monitor and assess project progress and performance.
- Identify, document, administer and communicate project risks.
- Coordinate partnership outreach and engagement strategies designed to meet operational goals as identified in the organization’s strategic plan.
- Partnership Communications
- Represent eCampusOntario & Digital Campus Canada in public events, presenting on diverse subject matter and acting as an influencer, advocate, and ambassador for Digital Campus Canada programming.
- Support and represent platforms, programs and services to member institutions and external organizations, with the goal of fostering partnerships and activities that support eCampusOntario strategic goals.
- Support client and stakeholder relationships and expectations.
- Maintain awareness of diverse stakeholder audiences’ perspectives and sector trends to gather, analyze, and communicate key trends and recommended new programs, or shifts to specific program approaches.
- Research and recommend new opportunities for external collaborations and partnerships.
- Identify opportunities to boost awareness of and engagement in program areas and generate excitement and interest.
- Administer communications channels for accessibility and responsible use.
- Collaborate with the communications team to plan and launch communication campaigns for activities and initiatives.
Education, Professional Designations and Development
- Undergraduate degree required in business, marketing, or communications, educational technology, or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, and experience.
Experience
- Three (3) years’ minimum professional experience in a strategic partnership, business development, management consulting or a similar role.
- Business experience and ability to initiate and test new ideas.
Skills
- Able to act independently to solve problems related to partnership design and direction.
- Public speaking, stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and other outreach.
- Problem solving with management and team level support, and with access to existing resources to support any challenging situations.
- Strong judgement when representing eCampusOntario & Digital Campus Canada and engaging with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills to understand stakeholder feedback.
- Able to prioritize competing tasks and develop plans with the Manager to achieve objectives and strategic goals with limited resources and time.
- Able to apply strong critical thinking, independent decision-making, negotiation, and communication skills to build and enhance partnership development.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding equity, diversity, decolonization and
- inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse peoples.

Hybrid Work Model
This position is based out of the eCampusOntario office in downtown Toronto, where our hybrid work model includes both in-person and remote work opportunities.
