Definition:
Synchronous learning occurs when individuals participate in an online learning course at the same time but in different locations. Synchronous learning allows learners to interact with the instructor and other participants. This is done through software that creates a virtual classroom. (Also see Asynchronous Learning.)
Remarks:
Synchronous learning is in contrast to asynchronous learning but both terms can be part of a blended learning approach
