Accessibility Statement
Last Revised: December 2024
At eCampusOntario we are committed to ensuring that we, as an organization, strive to be accessible to all users, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. We understand the importance of providing an inclusive and user-friendly experience with a human centered approach. Here are some steps that we are taking to support our users:
Integrating Accessibility Across eCampusOntario
- All eCampusOntario platforms are undergoing comprehensive accessibility audits. These audits are crucial for identifying areas that require remediation to ensure existing platforms meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA .
- The eCampusOntario website is currently being monitored by AudioEye, a third-party provider that supports WCAG compliance.
- A redesign of the website is underway, and is scheduled to launch in the Summer of 2025. This website is going to be accessible by design, ensuring that users can navigate and interact with our content comfortably and effectively.
- Adopting an accessible by design approach ensures accessibility is not an afterthought; rather, it is a fundamental aspect of our design and development processes.
- eCampusOntario has a dedicated accessibility specialist on staff. This expert plays a key role in guiding our accessibility initiatives, providing valuable insights, and ensuring that our digital content, internal practices and events are accessible to everyone.
- We have created a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan detailing our strategies and objectives for enhancing accessibility. This plan emphasizes our dedication to supporting individuals with disabilities and policy compliance such as Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Integrated Accessibility Standards (IASR), Human Rights Code, and WCAG.
- Our internal procurement processes include accessibility evaluations to ensure that products and services procured adhere to accessibility policies and best practices.
- We are committed to continuous improvement and welcome feedback from our users to help us enhance our accessibility efforts. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding accessibility, please contact us at accessibility@ecampusontario.ca.
