Parliamentary Assistant Lorne Coe 

Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security 

Lorne Coe has been the Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Whitby since 2016 and was re-elected in 2018, 2022 and 2025. He previously served as a Town and Regional Councillor in Whitby for 13 years. 

MPP Coe is also Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, and the Chair of the Legislature’s Standing Committee on Justice Policy. 

Prior to entering politics, he held senior communications positions in the private sector and at Queen’s Park, e.g. the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, Finance, Municipal Affairs and Housing, and the Ontario Seniors’ Secretariat.
