eCampusOntario announces Micro-Credential Summit and Franco-Ontarian Forum Calls for Proposals
eCampusOntario announced today the return of two flagship events that spotlight innovation, collaboration, and the future of education in Ontario: the Franco-Ontarian Forum and the Micro-Credential Summit (formerly known as Micro-credential Forum).
Proposals are now being accepted for both events, and educators, researchers, leaders, and industry partners are invited to share their insights and expertise.
September 12 is the deadline to submit proposals. Interested applicants may submit your proposal here.
Franco-Ontarian Forum 2025
Franco-Ontarian Forum 2025 brings together Francophone educators, leaders, researchers, and innovators to discuss future-focused, technology-enabled education in Francophone and bilingual contexts. Held at INNOVA, Ottawa, Ontario on November 18, the main theme is Innovating Education for Tomorrow / Innover l’éducation pour demain. Conference tracks include:
- AI for Francophone Education (IA pour une éducation francophone)
Practical strategies for using AI to personalize, differentiate, and enhance French-language learning. - Innovative Leadership and an Inclusive Future (Leadership innovant et avenir inclusif)
Inclusive and forward-looking governance strategies supporting access, retention, and cultural vitality, with a focus on innovative approaches and technology. - Open Innovation and Resource Sharing (Innovation ouverte et mutualisation des ressources)
Cross-sector collaboration and co-creation of digital resources for Francophone learning ecosystems.
Micro-Credential Summit 2026
Micro-Credential Summit 2026 convenes educators, policymakers, and industry partners to explore the future of micro-credentials and their role in transforming skills pathways and workforce development. Hosted at The Quay, Toronto, Ontario on February 11-12, 2026, the main theme for the event is Tomorrow’s Skills / Un regard sur les compétences de demain. Conference tracks include:
- AI, Skills, and Workforce Transformation
Exploring the role of AI in reshaping job profiles, credentialing pathways, and preparing talent for the future economy. - Employer Co-Design, Impact, and ROI
Advancing co-designed micro-credentials with employers, focusing on measurable impact, ROI for learners and employers, and scaling success stories. - Credentialing Innovations
Designing programs that address affordability, accessibility, and learner diversity through innovative approaches in postsecondary education.
Presentation Formats
- Symposium: 10-minute talk grouped with two others by theme + 15 minutes shared Q&A (45 minutes total)
- Presentation: 30 minutes + 10 minutes Q&A
- Workshop: 60 minutes
- Panel Discussion: 60 minutes
Proposal Requirements
- Abstract of max 150 words
- Alignment with the selected event theme and track(s)
- Learning outcomes and relevance for conference attendees
- Presenter(s) expertise and experience
Proposals must be submitted by representatives from eCampusOntario member institutions (Ontario colleges, universities, or Indigenous Institutes). Industry and community partners are encouraged to co-present.
